About Me
Alison Read graduated from the University College of Osteopathy in 2003 with a First Class Honors degree and won the Pathology Award. She is experienced in all aspects of Shock Wave Therapy Practice, including Canine Osteopathy, having completed a Post-Graduate Diploma course in Animal Osteopathy at the European School of Osteopathy. She is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.
Prior to 2003, Alison worked as a Biology Lecturer in East London having gained a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences in 1982, followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Education for FE (PGCE) in 1983. After leaving teaching she worked for BTEC (Edexcel) as an Education Advisor for five years. She combines her experience as an educator with her Shock Wave Therapy Practice skills to encourage patients’ understanding of their structural problems, which she feels is essential if musculo-skeletal issues are to be managed or avoided in the future.
