How can an Osteopath help me?
How can an Osteopath help me?
An osteopath tries to understand and identify the root cause of your pain rather than just treating the pain itself. We try to avoid your having to rely on drugs or surgery.
All osteopaths are trained to the same standard and have to be registered with the General Osteopathic Council. This ensures that all osteopaths are experts in the process of assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
Osteopathy is a hands-on approach and here in Forest Row Alison uses a wide range of techniques including soft-tissue work, articulation, traction release, joint manipulation, muscle energy, balanced ligament and cranial techniques. Her choice of technique will be determined by the nature of the issue, any past experiences you might have of success or failure of different treatment approaches, your general level of health, including your age etc. Your consent will always be sought before using any specific technique.
